Web 2.0 Conference in SecondLife

To All Chesterfield County Employees:

Below, I have pasted in an announcement from Munigov2.0, regarding a conference we have been organizing. I don't know if the website for MuniGov2.0 is blocked or not. Try it, there is a cool video on the main page about the conference.

The conference is April 10th, from 12pm to 4pm (Eastern Time)

We are going to get someone to sign up for the conference, and then attend it in the IST conference room using the LCD projector and sound system so more can attend. If we have more than the IST conference room can hold, we will reserve another room.

I have been helping to organize this conference. We have over 100 people from all over the USA and Canada registered, from all levels of Government. The speakers list is impressive.

We have a 200+ seat conference facility reserved in SecondLife (you will see it in the video) and meet weekly there to do the planning.

Please drop me a comment or email if you plan to attend. There will not a separate meeting notice going out. I already have the conference room reserved.

From the www.munigov.org website:

MuniGov2.0 is very happy to announce the creation of MuniGovCon'09 - a virtual conference to be held April 10, 2009 from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM PST. As far as we know, this is the very first conference of its kind - a virtual conference developed by government volunteers for those in government who are interested in learning more about how Web 2.0 is transforming the technology and culture of our organizations.

Who Should Attend?
If you or your government organization is interested in learning more about how your peers are using the tools and business methods of Web 2.0 to improve your organization, you should attend this free conference. Attendees are coming all levels of government and from many fields including information technology, marketing, human resources, engineering, education and many more!
